Your feedback is needed for an important survey of the BC child care workforce
The British Columbia government – with support from the Government of Canada – has a 10-year plan to increase the quality, affordability and availability of childcare. This includes an ‘Early Care and Learning Recruitment and Retention Strategy’ to support people who work in childcare. This ECL R&R Strategy includes:
- Wage enhancements
- Student bursaries
- Professional development and
- Training supports
ECEBC is coordinating an evaluation of the Early Care and Learning Recruitment and Retention Strategy. The evaluation is funded the Province of British Columbia. We have asked the Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (SRDC) – a non-profit research organization – to help with the evaluation. SRDC has developed the evaluation plan, including this survey, with sector representatives.
The survey provides an opportunity for child care centre operators/supervisors and child care professionals to let the BC government know:
How is this strategy working for you?
The aim of the evaluation is to hear from the entire sector to ensure that the results accurately reflect what is happening in child care across the province. We want to know the impacts of the ECL R&R Strategy on BC's child care workforce. The survey will be repeated each year until October 2021 to measure any changes over time.
When will the Survey Take Place?
The survey is now open! If you have not already responded!
We want to hear how BC's Early Care and Learning Recruitment and Retention Strategy has impacted you and those who work with you.
The survey is intended for everyone in the child care workforce plus educators and educator assistants holding certificates but not currently working with children. More information is available in the FAQs. You can also contact SRDC at [email protected] or 1-833-298-3016.
