Established in 1955, Wesbrook Preschool is proud of its history of providing safe, quality care for young children in West Point Grey and the surrounding neighborhoods. Wesbrook is a parent involvement preschool where children, at an individual pace, learn and develop through play, while parents learn and grow in their abilities to be child educators at home, school, and in their community.

Our goal is to help children blossom socially, emotionally and intellectually, while having lots of fun along the way. We believe that playing is a critical part of early childhood development and should be used as the medium to develop these key skills.

  • As an Early Childhood Education Assistant, you will assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing a high-quality, play-based curriculum for children aged 3 to 5 years old.
  • Interact with the children in a positive and respectful manner, and support their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Observe and document the children's learning and progress and share feedback with the lead teacher and parents.
  • Follow the policies and procedures of the center and adhere to the health and safety regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

Other: ECEA Certificate

Additional Qualifications:

  • Valid Certification with ECE BC Registry as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant.
  • A current and valid first aid certificate with infant and child CPR (or be willing to obtain one as part of the training before commencing work).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
  • A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their well-being and education.

Required Experience:

We support new ECEA graduates, or ECEA applicants with experience.

Salary & Benefits:

  • $18-$20 (depending on experience)
  • Monthly allowance for benefits
  • Vacation pay
