Lead Infant Toddler Educator

Holistic Roots Childcare Centre is looking for a full time, experienced, enthusiastic Infant Toddler Educator to join our team.  We are a small center with 2 classrooms (JkL1 & JKL2), ages 10 months to 5 years, located in downtown Langley.  

We offer a laid back atmosphere, a gardening program and we are walking distance to the bus depot & local coffee shop.  We have a Therapy Dog, Lola, that is part of the program.  We encourage our teachers to collaborate, support and mentor one another as we believe having a supportive classroom envionment allows everyone to perform to their best abilities.  

Job Description:

• Create a warm, supportive, healthy and engaging early learning environment

• Collaborate & create lesson plans that adhere to a holistic approach that focuses on a child's physical, personal, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, as well as cognitive aspects of learning.   

• Ensure that all programming is age appropriate for ages 10 months - 3 years. 

• Engage children and participate in all activities which will include mindful yoga, storytime, language arts, arts and crafts, music & movements, sensory & outdoor activities.  

• Prepare and serve snacks; Respond to infants’ needs for food and comfort.

• Handle emergencies, crises, and challenging behaviours of the children when they arise.

• Follow the centre's policies & procedures as well as have knowledge of licensing regulations. 

• Have fun, get to know the children and build genuine relationships with children, their families and your coworkers.

Required Experience:

Minimum 2 years experience working in IT & experience managing/leading staff.  

Salary & Benefits:

• $23.00 per hour plus additional $6 per hour for ECE-WE Grant (Negotiable - wage based on experience)

Additional Information:

Be able to coordinate & manage a classroom which includes coordinating prep & program planning times bnetween 3-4 teachers, ensuring breaks are on time, finalizing daily child reports through Lillio & completng Licensing compliance checklists monthly.
