OUT OF SCHOOL CARE SUPERVISOR
MPCCA - Our House Child Care Centre
We are seeking an energetic, creative and positive individual to work as the Supervisor of our Out of School Care Program. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high quality care for Children from Kindergarten to Grade 7. Reporting to the Our House Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for the overall operations of the School Age Programs.
The Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association (MPCCA) operates two licensed child care centres providing care for children 0-12 years old. Our mission is to provide high quality and affordable child care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children. Our goal is to offer nurturing environments and learning experiences for children to ready them for life-long learning and to provide opportunities for children to develop physically, socially and cognitively according to their individual development and learning styles.

Responsibilities include day to day supervision of the Out of School Care programs including but not limited to:
- Working in ratio in the program
- Ensuring that the programs meet licensing regulation and other legal requirements
- Liaising with community partners such as Simon Fraser Elementary School, VSB, BC Centre of Ability, VCH and others.
- Working with families/parents from a diverse neighborhood
- Recruitment of Out of School Care Staff
- Coordinating all aspects of the programs within established budgets
- Purchasing equipment, supplies and groceries
- Administrative duties include creating activity calendar, petty cash reconciliation, payroll, staff schedules & newsletters
Qualifications:
School Age Certificate

Qualifications:
- First Aid Certificate
- Responsible Adult Certificate and High School Diploma
- Up to date Immunization Schedule or waiver
- Ability to provide a minimum of 3 current/satisfactory references
- Minimum 1 year Supervisory experience in a Licensed OSC program
- Must have School Age Summer Camp coordination experience
- Ability to apply risk management skills to ensure children are safe from harm
- Possess a thorough understanding of child care licensing regulation
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, comfortable with Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to work within a team environment and have a strong work ethic and leadership skills
- Ability to lead a team of 6-7 staff
Additional Assets:
- Food Safe Certificate
- Special Needs training and/or experience
- Additional post-secondary education in the educational and/or social services fields or Early Childhood Education Certificate
- Valid BC Driver’s License with access to a vehicle

Salary & Benefits:
Rate of Pay: $23.54 - $25.39, based on experience, additional $6/hr ECE Wage Enhancement - if ECE certified
Days & Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, a minimum of 5 hours per day, 25 hours per week, excluding breaks plus additional time for shopping. More hours available in AM Care program (up to 10 hours per week). Hours will increase to a maximum of 8 hours/day for pro-days and seasonal camps.
