Froggy Pad Group Daycare and The Swamp Out of School Care programs are located in a quiet residential neighbourhood surrounded by nature in Upper Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. We opened in 2001. We are licensed for 26 children, ages 2.5 - 12 years of age. We, as educators, make a differnece in young children's lives, so we must have a truly child centered philosophy for that difference to be as positive as possible. We provide a safe, fun, stimulating and developmentally appropriate environment, to facilitate joy and wonder while continuing to support children's social, physical, emotional, and cognitive development. We are all growing and learning together.
Qualifications:
Basic ECE
Additional Qualifications:
At minimum, the successful candidate will:
- be working towards their basic ECE, have attained a School Age Certificate, or be licensed as an ECE by the province of BC
- have a current First Aid Certificate
- have a clear criminal record check
- be patient, creative, compassionate, energetic, and enthusiastic, with a good sense of humor
- be a person who really enjoys working with children
- be a great team player, able to work and communicate with coworkers and the children's families
- enjoy learning and being outside in all-weather, year-round as Upper Lynn Valley is part of the rainforest!
Required Experience:
- ability to ensure the health and safety of the children
- ability to plan activities and actively participate with the children
- be familiar with ELF
- be familiar with BC Code of Ethics
- be familiar with BC Childcare Licensing Regulations
- have work related experience and references
Salary & Benefits:
40 hours/week 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
$21.00 + (depends on experience)
$6.00 wage enhancement if licenced ECE
