Purcell Preschool + Daycare is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and nurturing educator for our Infant/Toddler program. If you are a certified Infant/Toddler Educator and you want to join a well-established childcare program, we want to hear from you!

Core Roles and Responsibilities:

-ensure that Provincial Child Care Licensing Regulations and Purcell Preschool + Daycare policies and procedures are implemented and maintained in the programs

-provide effective supervision of children’s play areas to ensure adequate support and guidance is provided to the children ensure the safety and well-being of children in care

-follow behavior guidance policies and procedures and set reasonable behavior expectations that are consistent with each child’s development level and Purcell Preschool + Daycare’s guidance philosophy

-work with staff to co-construct and implement responsive/emergent program planning with the children

-develop and maintain professional relationships with parents, staff and community

-maintain regular sanitization of room and equipment

-contribute to the creation of a care and learning environment that -ensure children enjoy and benefit from their experience at Purcell Preschool & Daycare

Qualifications:

Post Basic ECE

Additional Qualifications:

-ECE with ITE qualification 

-valid and current First Aid training

-Criminal Record Check (incl. Vulnerable Sector Query)

Required Experience:

-knowedge of and commitment to the Early Learning Framework  

-well-developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills

-thorough knowledge of age-appropriate child guidance strategies and techniques

-established knowledge and awareness of child development and age-appropriate programming

-knowledge of supports and resources for families ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment

Salary & Benefits:

-base wage of $21.63 per hour

-qualification for the BC ECE-Wage Enhancement
