When you join ECEBC you add your voice to the thousands of professional friends and colleagues throughout BC. The more voices ECEBC represents, the stronger position we have to educate and advance the rights and needs of early childhood educators, children and families.

ECEBC has been advancing early childhood education and care since 1969. This fast paced organization constantly strives to remain current and responsive to current trends in our sector and continuously looks for opportunities to enhance services to its Members.

Membership Categories

Student Member

Is in the process of becoming professionally qualified in the field of early childhood or is in the process of completing 500 hours of work experience (proof of enrollment as a student required such as a copy of a student card or school registration form).

One-time payment $50 for one year
Monthly Payments Not available

Associate Member

Holds post-secondary certification in a related field, or has been a full member of ECEBC and is now retired from the ECE field, or is currently employed in the early childhood field and is in good standing with the Provincial Community Care Facilities Branch (copy of operating license or a license to practice as an Assistant ECE required with membership application).

One-time payment $100 for one year
Monthly payments $8.33 / month for 12 months

Full Member

Has Early Childhood Educator's Certificate to Practice from the provincial government's ECE Registry. (Copy of Certificate required with membership application).

Eligible to vote on provincial issues at ECEBC's Annual General Meeting

One-time Payment $115 for one year
Monthly Payments $9.58 / month for 12 months

For information regarding regulatory requirements for registration as an Early Childhood Educator in British Columbia please see the Early Childhood Education Information webpage. The Early Childhood Registry can be contacted Toll Free through the Child Care Call Centre: 1-888-338-6622.

Subscriptions to the Early Childhood Educator
Subscriptions to the Early Childhood Educator Journal are available to institutions and to individuals ineligible for membership for $50.00 annually. Download the subscription application form (PDF).
